DOTA - Fountain of Eternity

It was just past midnight as the silhouette of a slim figure slid past the gargoyle statues found at the foot of the Fountain of Eternity. The clouds driven by the Weather mages glided past the eye of the MoonRider – the Moon to identify the slim figure as Nervshi, the Drow Ranger.

Yes, indeed, the Drow Ranger had many successes on the battlefield, especially on the newer grounds created by the Master IceFrog. Her Frost Arrows seemed to be more potent, slowing the enemy Hero more with each hit and then finally eliminating them. Her routine Creeping was far better than the rest of the Lost Souls of the Fountain. Master Guinsoo certainly favored her a lot.

Her trip back to the Fountain marked the great victory her last battle, where she fought with the Shadowfiend called Nevermore. Had she not silence the Shadowfiend within a few seconds of her death, she would have died. But she was young still, quick and swift and her deft fingers allowed her intricacy in weaving a web of Silence which held on to the Shadowfiend whilst she took on the last bits of the Shadowfiend.

It was indeed a hard battle fought, and the Elders of the clan agreed on that. The Nevermore was known throughout the Lands of Vyse and Amor, with its silent Requiems of Death which devastated its opponents with a blast of energy around it. Its pairing with the ‘RogueKnight’ Sven made the two ‘Sange and Yasha’ – Crippler and Destroyer. The elimination of one of the pair marked the end of their dominance.

But the Drow Ranger’s head was down as she walked through the Hall of the Dead. Her family would never be honored – she had failed to kill the RogueKnight. He had run away with all but one health. He would come back to find her, to take revenge, and to kill her. And she would have to find him, for it was The Pair that had killed her parents, killed her spirit. And she had failed.

The Banshee of Summoning called upon the Ghosts of her parents as she approached the Shrine. The Sorceress and Priest looked down upon her from the Moonwell.

The Sorceress spoke, ‘You have failed, my daughter, this time. But I’m still proud of what you have done. You are truly my daughter’. Nervshi looked up at her parents and they smiled back.

‘Don’t fret my daughter. Always look forward, not back. Life is to be lived forward, regret is backwards and surely you don’t want the future to be taken away from you and the past to haunt you’ The Priest raised his hands and touched his daughter’s cold hands. ‘We will always be proud of you’

Nervshi bowed to her parents as they disappeared into the Well again. Prince Arthas was waiting for her at the corridors……
